(PORTLAND) - A pickup truck with three children in it rolled down the street uncontrolled and crashed into a house. The children were not hurt and no one was home at the time of the crash.

Yesterday, Friday, February 21, 2014, at about 4:42 p.m. Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a pickup truck that crashed into a house at 8415 SW Carmel CT in the community of Garden Home. After a brief investigation, deputies learned that 35-year-old Juan Jose Martinez-Valazquez was working at a landscaping job in the area. His wife, 38-year-old Olivia Lombero-Lopez, and their three children ages five, seven, and ten, came to visit with him.

The children were left in the families '96 Ford F-150 pickup truck while Mrs. Lombero-Lopez was visiting with Mr. Martinez-Valazquez. They heard a crash and saw that their truck had rolled about 40 feet down the street, through a yard and into the front of a house. It also took out a mailbox in the process. The children were not injured and the house sustained some damage to the wall. The homeowner was not home at the time of the crash.

Deputies determined that the children were playing in the truck and one of them knocked it out of gear. No charges have been filed and no citations were issued.
