Library Book Kits Available to Local Book Clubs

Kits are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis

(SALEM) - Salem Public Library Foundation, the Oregon Center for the Book, and the Salem Public Library have teamed up to develop a group of Book Club Kits that are now available to area book clubs.

Each kit offers 10-12 copies of a single book, author information, and suggested discussion questions.

Reservations for kits can be arranged at the Salem Public Library Reference Desk in person or by phone at (503) 588-6052.

Titles available are:

  • "Jump-Off Creek" by Molly Gloss
  • "Ricochet River" by Robin Cody
  • "A Sudden Country" by Karen Fisher
  • "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini
  • "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach
  • "Sometimes a Great Notion" by Ken Kesey
  • "Island of Dr. Moreau" by H.G. Wells
  • "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley
  • "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley
  • "Nickel and Dimed: On (not) Getting by in America" by Barbara Ehrenreich
  • "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck (available after May 1st)
  • "Middlesex" by Jeffry Eugenides (available after June 1st)
