The Marion County Sheriff's Office is very pleased to announce that yesterday afternoon Deputy Jim Buchholz was released from the hospital. Deputy Buchholz is now beginning the recovery process.
The Sheriff's Office and the Buchholz family would like to thank all first responders, hospital staff, citizens, law enforcement and fire department personnel for their encouraging words, acts of kindness and family support.

The suspect is currently in the Linn County Jail for the charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle, four outstanding Bench Warrants and Theft in the Third Degree.

A Marion County deputy and his canine partner helped nab a man authorities describe as a wanted felon with numerous warrants for his arrest.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Bernards and his K9 partner Rolo were called to help the Linn County Sheriff's Office in the 400 block of SW Ivy Street in Mill City December 8th at 9:35 p.m.

Family Alerted of House Fire By Passerby

A woman observed the fire and pounded on the door alerting the residents. Everyone got out safely.
(ALBANY, OR) -
Monday at 2:07 p.m. the Albany Fire Department was called to a house fire at 2887 SE Grand Prairie RD. Arriving vehicles saw smoke coming from the house. The fire went to a second alarm about 3:00 p.m. Corvallis Fire, Lebanon Fire and Tangent Fire came to the scene while Jefferson Fire covered the city.
At the time of the fire Spencer Kernats and his daughter Brooklyn 2 Â1/2 were in the house along with their dog Gabby and their cat Mama. Andrea & Mark Ylen were the first at the scene after seeing the fire from across the bridge.

Two Mexican witnesses claimed that Felix Rodriquez, a CIA operative and active player in Iran-Contra, murdered Kiki Camarena.
Rodriquez, born in 1941 in Cuba, was a rabid anticommunist, involved in the Bay of Pigs, later joined the US Army, served in Vietnam flying choppers and was active in the Phoenix program and an early recruit for the CIA.

Peace, anti-hunger, anti-poverty, environmental and community groups will gather in the nation's Capitol on Tuesday December 10 to observe International Human Rights Day by calling upon Congress to slash runaway, dangerous military spending and meet critical domestic needs instead.
The groups will hold a news conference and media availability at 10:00 a.m.

The 1987 Indo- Lanka accord recognized the North East of the island of Sri Lanka as the hereditary land of the Tamil people. Under internationally agreed arrangement, the North and Eastern provinces were merged as one administrative unit.
Unfortunately less than a year after Mahinda Rajapaksa was elected as President, the merger of the North and Eastern provinces was brought to an end on 16 October 2006, after systematic manipulation.
