(ALBANY, Ore.) - The Albany Fire Department responded to 1310 Geary Street SE at 1:05 p.m. today to a reported structural collapse. Firefighters arrived at the site of the new Aspen Dental building within approximately five minutes to find the roof trusses had collapsed into a building currently under construction. Firefighters determined workers for Mainline Construction of Mission Viejo, CA, were installing roof trusses on the structure and that three persons were on or in the structure at the time of the collapse. One worker was evaluated by firefighters, and no one was transported from the scene. Nineteen Fire Department personnel initially responded to the emergency call, which was quickly downgraded once initial responding firefighters determined that the situation had stabilized. Three Albany Building Department personnel also responded to assist with the Fire Department's post-incident damage assessment.
