We've Got the News, You've Got the Brawn, Let's Make Lots of Money

There are no limitations in sight for us, and Salem-News.com's popularity and growth is a daily factor. It is a new time and people who can share this bright vision need to reach out.

Let's Make Lots of Money
Opportunities: Let's Make Lots of Money Matthieu Laurette (1970 FR)

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com is in need of financial assistance. We have huge numbers of visitors and a five out of ten ranking on Google. That is the same level as Portland's television stations. This has taken five years of hard work to achieve. We did this for Salem, Oregon which is a place that often feels overlooked in terms of media coverage.

We changed that, and we want to continue to provide news for residents of this state. We need a partner to join us and turn this into a profitable business. We are on the verge of launching a new section that is a guaranteed moneymaker. It is time for us to figure out where this is going.

I knew five years ago that the Internet was the new venue for news. At that point I didn't realize that we could not go live to a massive audience - due to the inability of the Web and technology available in 2004. As a lifelong TV news photojournalist, I was gravely disappointed. Instead of concentrating on live news, we directed our energy toward published stories.

We have spent five years ahead of the curve, and now technology has caught up with us. We can now go live to a huge audience and we just completed our beta phase of live newscasts at 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, we are on the verge of launching a new subsection that will address the nightlife of Oregon that we have until now, only covered on a limited basis. This means music, shows, attractions, you name it. This aspect will diversify the site for those who aren't political junkies, as is the case with most of our staff.

This site could easily function in any locality, but we thought Salem was the right place when we started it. Salem incidentally, translates to "peace".

We need a partner, we aren't looking for an extraordinary amount of investment. We have pounded this for five years, we have published over 12,000 articles alone since 2005, when our Web Designer Matt Lintz launched our new format. That 12k does not account for sports.

In a release that I wrote from the Balad air base in Iraq last year at this time, I stated that we are looking for "Investors with Courage" and the same holds true now. That release one year ago did bring two wonderful people into our world who have helped us get this far.

We are pro-veteran, we treat medical marijuana as the legal legitimate medicine that it is, we pay close attention to environmental issues, and we have a staff of writers who eventually need compensation for the services they offer to the world. The new section we are going to launch is badly needed here and will generate, in the words of The Pet Shop Boys, "Lets make lots of money".

Revenue, that has not been our focus but it is our future. We have moved small mountains as reporters, and we have fought for our citizens on countless occasions.

Bonnie and I are both creative people and we have the entrepreneurial spirit that has led to the successes we have seen, but we need to have someone come aboard who can provide the capital we need to cover our sales staff and to bring everything up to date.

There are no limitations in sight for us, and Salem-News.com's popularity and growth is a daily factor.

It is a new time and people who can share this bright vision need to reach out. Our live news is set to relaunch soon with many improvements and upgrades. I'd like to think that the number of programs we've already produced, and our coverage from Iraq and Afghanistan, are a statement in and of themselves. People complain a lot about the state of media in this country and we are the people here to reinvent and reinvigorate the process.
