(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - A Molalla-area man was arrested for DUII and Assault charges after he lost control of his pickup Friday night on Highway 211 west of Molalla and crashed. Two of his three passengers were seriously injured. At about 10:07 PM, Oregon State Police troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover traffic collision on Highway 211 near milepost 10 just west of Molalla. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2006 Dodge pickup driven by Marcos Gonzales-Santos, age 34, from Molalla, was westbound on Highway 211 at a very high rate of speed when it lost control trying to negotiate a curve. The pickup left the road and ended up in a Christmas tree farm where it rolled several times before coming to rest several hundred feet from where it left the highway. One of the passengers suffered an amputated arm from the collision and was transported by LifeFlight to OHSU hospital in critical condition. Another passenger was taken by ambulance to OHSU with serious injuries. A third passenger was not injured. Gonzales-Santos, who also was not injured, was arrested at the scene for Assault in the Second Degree and DUII as well as Probation Violation. He was lodged at the Clackamas Jail. Due to the severity of the injury sustained by the one passenger, the Clackamas Reconstruction and Forensic Team (CRAFT) were called to assist OSP and the investigation is still continuing. Molalla Police Department, Molalla Fire Department and the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office also assisted. The names of the passengers are being withheld at this time. DD- how rude. Do you have any reason whatsoever to believe this guy was illegal? This is a tragedy, a crime even, but it shouldn't be an opportunity for you to spew your bad attitude all over the Internet. I know many many Hispanic families that have been in this country longer than most Caucasians. They are CITIZENS. Whether or not this situation includes "illegals" does not lessen the impact on the people affected by this accident. You should ask yourself why it is the most important issue to you.
