(SALEM) - Salem Police responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle striking two pedestrians in the 1900 block of Edgewater St NW last night at approximately at 9:00 p.m. When officers arrived, one of the pedestrians was deceased at the scene. The other pedestrian was transported to Salem Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The Salem Police Department Traffic Control Unit is presently investigating the accident. Edgewater St NW at Eola Dr NW was closed as well as the off-ramp from Hwy 22 to Edgewater St NW.
