(SALEM, Ore.) - A 46-year-old psychiatric patient serving time for two counts of Murder was reported on unauthorized leave today from the Salem campus of Oregon State Hospital. The patient is Christopher Walker, who was on a day pass to visit a relative in the Portland area. Walker was admitted to the hospital on January 10th 1989 as a forensic commitment on a conviction of two counts of murder from Multnomah County. He escaped from his state escort today at about 3:30 PM, State Hospital officials said. Hospital officials, who reported the escape to police agencies, described Walker as a black male who is 6' 1" tall and weighs 250 pounds. When last seen, Christopher Walker was wearing dark gray pants and a light blue jacket. Anyone seeing the patient should call Oregon State Police at 1 (800) 452-7888 or call 9-1-1.
