(SALEM, Ore.) - A poll in Lebanon suggests Saad Hariri and Ashraf Rifi lost popularity among Lebanon's Sunnis.

The al-Mustaqbal Movement held a poll in mid-August this year with help of the Saudi Embassy in Beirut, to determine the social position of political figures among Sunnis in northern Lebanon.

The Anfopro institute at the request of the Saudis carried out the poll and asked this question: "Who is the most reliable and most popular political Sunni figure in Lebanon?

It was asked of 2500 Sunni residents in Tripoli and Akkar during a 20 day period. Poll results showed bad positioning of some figures that are attributed to Saudi Arabia in al-Mustaqbal Movement; they did not release the results.

Based on the poll results, individuals like Saad Hariri was not even among the top ten popular & reliable figures.

It is important to note that Ashraf Rifi, despite Saudi's financial and promotional support, was even lower on this list compared to Saad Hariri.
