Plane Crashes Onto Shop in Lebanon

The pilot and passenger were both conscious and talking with rescuers.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - A small airplane crashed onto a shop building with two aboard, Friday. At 12:31 p.m., the Lebanon Fire District was dispatched to 36144 Bohlken Dr for an aircraft crash.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a 2-seat light plane (a Van's RV-6A) had crashed on top of a shop building. Both occupants of the plane were still inside the aircraft.

The pilot and passenger were both conscious and talking with rescuers. Both were suffering from non-life threa tening injuries.

The position of the airplane on the roof was somewhat precarious, requiring firefighters to secure the aircraft prior to extricating the victims. Both men were removed from the aircraft and transported to local hospitals.

The scene was turned over to Linn County Sheriff's Office which is coordinating the crash investigation with the FAA. Albany Fire Department also assisted LFD at the scene.
