Nov-05-2012 12:45TweetFollow @OregonNews West Does NOT Want to Help Rohingya Muslims: Analyst... you also look at the wars in Africa, it is to get China out of Africa. So, China has been identified as enemy number one...
(TEHRAN Press TV) - The Rohingya Muslims, who face potential genocide, have been abandoned by the West due to the imperial geo-strategic agenda of Western states against China, an analyst says. In the background of this, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) says the Myanmar government has rejected the regional bloc’s offer to hold negotiations to end the violence against the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, previously known as Burma. Press TV has interviewed Dr. Randy Short, with Dignity Human Rights and Peace Organization in Washington, to discuss this issue in depth. He is joined by Mike Billington with the Executive Intelligence Review from Leesburg, Virginia and Mr. Adnan Rashid, historian and Islamic studies expert from London. The following is an approximate transcription of the interview. Press TV: Based on what our guest Mike Billington said, if I’m correct to say this, isn’t the vehicle of all the difference and intentions that the West has whether it’s the United States or as our guest says, Britain, is that vehicle Aung San Suu Kyi? Short: On one level yes, but you need to add the Dalai Lama because I think that they’re viewed as potential allies against the Chinese. And this issue of the Rohingya Muslims is a problem because they don’t want to help them. This undermines the greater geo-political game that they want to play. So, if these people are destroyed like the people... in Gaza or the people in the West Bank, if it suits a geo-strategic objective, who cares about these people. Press TV: Mike Billington talked about the hurricane that overwhelmed Myanmar under the R2P (Responsibility To Protect doctrine), the British wanted to come in and it’s interesting because R2P one of the founders was George Soros, which along with the US State Department it has been cited that they have been pretty much providing Aung San Suu Kyi with extensive political and financial backing and this because they want to target China. They even stopped a dam project, from what I’m seeing over here, which was in joint cooperation with China. So, can be deduct that China is one of the goals that the US has? And of course along with that comes trying to establish a military base in Myanmar? Short: Well, they want three places. They want Iran first and then work on China and Russia. It’s very clear if you look at the new relations: the bases opened back up in the Philippines; the conflict stimulated between Japan and China. If you look at even improved relations with Vietnam - It is looking at how do you isolate this powerhouse called China, which grows and becomes more powerful every year. And you also look at the wars in Africa, it is to get China out of Africa. So, China has been identified as enemy number one; Russia needs to be contained; and to make an example of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which also defends sovereignty and refuses to be a puppet nation to the United States, Britain and … Saudi Arabia.
