CCC Playoffs Finalized, Corban Hosts Southern Oregon

Corban Warriors

(SALEM, Ore.) - For the 15th straight season, Corban's women's soccer team has advanced to the post season with the Warriors earning the No. 2 seed for this weekend's Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament.

The 2010 CCC Tournament, which begins on Saturday, November 6th, will feature the NAIA's No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Concordia hosting The College of Idaho in a game that is tentatively set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. at Delta Park in Portland. Earlier in the day, No. 2 seed Corban will take its program-best 15-3-0 record into a semifinal match up against the tournament's No. 3-seeded Raiders of Southern Oregon beginning at 11:15 a.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.

Both winners will advance to the CCC Finals on Saturday, November 13th. The game will be played at the higher seed's home field with the time still to be determined.

As the tournament's No. 2 seed, Corban is riding a conference-best five-game winning streak after collecting back-to-back shut outs this past weekend against Evergreen (5-0) and Northwest (1-0). The Warriors are a perfect 2-0 all-time against Southern Oregon in the playoffs with wins in 2001 (1-0 in overtime) and 2002 (2-0). Earlier this season, Corban earned a hard-fought 1-0 double overtime win at Southern Oregon with freshman Rileigh Mankin (Manteca, Calif.) netting the game-winning goal in the 105th minute.

Per conference tournament guidelines, admission will be charged for the event — $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students w/ ID & senior citizens. Meanwhile, children 12 and under are admitted into the game for free.

The Warriors are playing in their third straight tournament semifinal game, while Corban is hoping to advance to its first tournament final game since 2004.
