May-28-2013 21:13TweetFollow @OregonNews Q Madp Featured in KATU Report: 'Photographer preserves memories of fallen soldiers'Salem-News.comNews story "Photographer preserves memories of fallen soldiers" tells the story of Oregon's most dedicated patriots.
(PORTLAND, OR) - Q Madp has a love for his country and those who serve it that is unmatched, for years he has attended the funerals of those killed in the wars overseas to take photos for the family. In cases where the family agrees, Q provides photos of the service to the media, in fact he is one of our writers. When I left to cover the war in Afghanistan, and the Iraq two years later, Q was there, at the Portland airport with members of the Patriot Guard, to see me off. I never go a day without thinking about Q and appreciating his endless effort to bring honor to our fallen. A photojournalist named Chelsea Sherier from my former television station, KATU Channel-2 in Portland, produced a new report on Q Madp titled Photographer preserves memories of fallen soldiers that is very worth watching. This is a photo essay or "Natural Sound Package" which in my opinion, are the finest reports aired on television because they are comprised of the sights and sounds of a story, without a narrator. Q Madp and I have gone head to head with members of the Westboro Baptist Church, the group that regularly protests military funerals claiming that because gays are accepted in the military, all who serve are going to hell. He is a great advocate for the Patriot Guard, and has taken thousands and thousands of photographs of that group in action ensuring that Americans killed overseas are treated with respect and dignity.
