(SALEM, Ore. ) - Good Morning! Here is your morning Salem and mid-Willamette Valley traffic and weather report from Salem-News.com.

Salem area traffic report: Expect normal backups heading into the city this morning on Commercial St, the Center Street Bridge, Lancaster Drive, and Mission St. I-5 between Salem and Portland, and Highway 22 east and west are reported clear.

Portland area traffic report: No accidents being reported. Expect the usual delays heading into the downtown area.

Salem Road Construction Report:

Madrona Ave SE Between Liberty Rd S and 3rd Ave SE. Today, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Lane closure with flaggers and sidewalk closure for installation of utilities for new building.

Madrona Ave S Between Biegler Ln S and Karen Ave S. Today thru Friday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM. Traffic reduced to one lane with flaggers for water line installation.

Ruge St NW Between Rosemont Ave NW and Senate St NW. Today thru Friday. 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Lane closure with flaggers for sewer service repair.

Madrona Ave SE Between Liberty Rd S and 3rd Ave SE. Today, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Lane closure with flaggers and sidewalk closure for installation of utilities for new building.

Nebraska Ave NE Between 13th St NE and 14th St NE. Today thru 5/23, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Street closure for sewer service replacement.

Market St NE Between 17th St NE and Capitol St NE. Now thru 6/11, 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Market St NE is closed to through traffic between Capitol St NE and 17th St NE for sewer and waterline construction. Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency services at all times. Detour routes will be in place. Westbound traffic will use 17th St NE, Sunnyview Rd NE, Fairgrounds Rd NE, and Summer St NE. Eastbound traffic will use Summer St NE, D Street NE, and 17th St NE.

Sunnyview Rd NE Between McCoy St NE and 16th St NE. Saturday and Sunday. 7:00 AM 5:00. PM Lane closure with flaggers for installation of utilities for development.

Keizer Iris Festival Parade Street Closures:

The Keizer Police Department will be closing River Road on Saturday, for the 57th annual Keizer Iris Parade.

Beginning at 9:00 AM, River Road will be closed from Lockhaven Drive to Plymouth Drive.

Traffic north of the street closure will be diverted to eastbound Lockhaven Drive.

Traffic south of the street closure will be diverted to Cherry Avenue via Plymouth Drive.

Cherry Avenue and Verda Lane will be the primary detour routes.

Traffic will be allowed to cross River Road ahead of the parade at Chemawa Road, Dearborn Avenue and Manbrin Drive intersections.

Lockhaven Drive between River Road and McClure Street will be closed at 7:00 AM to prepare the parade staging area.

Claggett Street between River Road and Wittenberg Lane will be closed at 7:00 AM to prepare the 5K Iris Run staging area.

Motorists are advised to find alternate routes and avoid these heavily congested areas.

Signs advising of the closure will be posted along River Road prior to the parade.

All street closures are expected to open at approximately 12:30 PM.

The Keizer Police Department will be providing traffic control for this event.

Polk County Road Construction Report:

Zena Road will be paved today thru Friday, May 18th. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minute delay. No work will take place on Saturday or Sunday.

Riddell Road will be paved from Monmouth to Orrs Corner Road today. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minute delay. No work will take place on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Orrs Corner Road will be paved from Dallas to Hwy 99 starting today thru Friday, May 18th. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minute delay.

Airlie Road, Elkins Road, and Maple Grove Road will be patch paved today thru Friday, May 18th. Travelers should expect minimal delays.

Rogers Road will be paved starting Friday, May 18th thru Monday, May 21st. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20 minute delay. No work will be done on Sunday.

Linn County Road Construction Report:

Albany - Hoefer Road Bridge reconstruction, today thru June 14th, 1/10 mile North of Dever Conner Drive.

Corvallis Road Construction Report:

Hwy 99W from Kiger Island to Chapman Place

Work will generally occur at night between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM Mon-Thu, except between Tunison and Goodnight Avenues where it will occur during the day between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mon-Fri. One lane in each direction of travel may be closed to traffic at various times during a work session. The median lane will be impassable through the work zones due to island construction. No lane closures will be allowed in the high-volume direction of travel during commute hours (between 7-9 AM no northbound lane closures will be allowed; between 4:00-6:00 PM no southbound lane closures will be allowed).

  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs 60 to 65.
  • Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Highs 60 to 65.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Highs 65 to 70.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 70 to 75.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 70 to 75.
