(CIUDAD / SALEM) - The deadly violence that has been ravaging Juarez, Mexico, always manifests in extreme ways. The Mexican news agency LaPolaka reports that a ministerial officer was shot dead Thursday night right outside of his home. It was learned that the victim is a crime scene expert, later identified as Angel Luis Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez was the head of the Forensic Medical Service, which has been extremely busy to say the least, trying to keep up with the constant grisly murder scenes that plague this violent city. The assassin or assassins as it may be in this case, traveled to the Gonzalez home, located at Calle Luis Spota and General Motors, where they shot him to death. It is reported that the shots came when this crime scene expert was called from outside, and went out to see who was ther. This public official was shot five times in the chest at close range. The death of Angel Luis Gonzalez, is only the latest in a series of strikes against government officials. We recently reported that a U.S. Consulate official, Lesley A. Enriquez, who was murdered in Juarez in mid-March, had been approached in the days prior to her death by a man seeking to get her to sign off on an official document absent the proper paperwork. Her refusal to cooperate with the man led to an order for her assassination from the top level of the Sinaloa drug trafficking organization. At this point, there are no theories or statements as to who ordered the hit against Angel Gonzalez, and there is no speculation as to exactly why he became a target.
