The female suspect is identified as 23-year old Challis Sharei Heath of Warm Springs. She was lodged in Jefferson County Jail on the following charges:

* Arson in the First Degree

* Felony Attempt to Elude in a Vehicle

* Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude on Foot

* Reckless Driving

A press release states that the incident began when an OSP trooper attempted to stop 1992 Honda Civic four door for disobeying a stop sign southeast side of Madras in Jefferson County. The driver failed to yield, attempting to elude by driving through a field, across Madras and onto Highway 361 into the Metolius area.

About 10 minutes later, the male and female occupants abandoned the car in an alley and fled on foot. OSP, with the help of Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Warm Springs Police Department, tracked the two people to a residence in the 500 block of Washington Street in Metolius. Contact with the residence owners confirmed the two suspects were inside trying to hide.

One of the suspects was believed to be Waldorf who was wanted on outstanding warrants and thought to be potentially armed. OSP activated SWAT personnel from central Oregon and Willamette Valley. After some of the SWAT personnel arrived on scene, they made entry and took both people into custody at approximately 10:15 a.m. While inside, SWAT officers learned the suspects set a fire in the kitchen and it was put out with fire extinguishers.
