(SALEM) - Salem Police Detectives made an arrest Thursday after receiving information on a man who may be involved in selling new home construction material. Police suspect that the materials were recently stolen for a home construction site in the Salem area. Detectives say they followed up on the information and arrested 37-year old Shawn Lynn Jones of Salem, after allegations that Jones delivered the suspected stolen items to a business that deals in housing materials. Salem Police Lt. Jim Anglemier says police confirmed that the items were stolen from a new home construction site about one week ago. The recovered items consisted of ten solid core custom doors, fifteen boxes of tile flooring and custom wine racks. The recovered property was valued at $13,700.00. Jones, who was convicted and is awaiting sentencing for two similar types of construction burglaries and thefts in Lincoln County, was booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility on the charges of Burglary II and Aggravated Theft with a bail of $40,000. If anyone has information regarding other possible incidents involving Shawn Jones, they are asked to contact Salem Police Burglary Detective Tom Johnson at 503-588-6050.
