(SALEM) - The Union Street Railroad Bridge and Trestle over the Willamette River in Salem, along with houses and buildings in Portland, Eugene, Hood River and Central Point are the latest Oregon additions to the National Register of Historic Places. The Union Street Railroad Bridge and Trestle spans the Willamette River, and is located at NE Union and Water streets in Salem, connecting both Marion and Polk Counties. The National Park Service, which maintains the register under the authority of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, notifies Oregon's State Historic Preservation Office of the listings.
