(MILWAUKIE, Ore. ) - Milwaukie Police are looking for a predatory sex offender that walked away from a residential treatment facility. The offender left the facility in the 4100 block of SE King Rd. at 5:53 p.m. on Tuesday. He was scheduled to return by 8:00 p.m. the same day. Missing is Michael James Thompson, 52. Police are concerned for his safety since he takes medication for health reasons. He also takes medication related to his sex offender treatment that if not taken could place him at risk in the community. Police do not believe he is an immediate danger to the public. He was last seen wearing glasses, blue jeans, a purple vest and purple stocking cap. He is a black male, 6'0", 170 pounds and has salt and pepper hair, a mustache and full beard. He is known to frequent Tri-Met. If you see Michael James Thompson please call the Milwaukie Police Department at 503-786-7500.
