Manslaughter Warrant Issued in Fatal Crash

Police need help locating two of the drivers involved in the double-fatal crash Saturday.

(ALBANY) - Albany Police are asking the public for help in their attempt to locate a driver and a person of interest, wanted in connection with a crash Saturday that left two people dead.

Police Captain Eric Carter says 30-year old Jodie Faye Jones of Albany has been identified as the driver of the 1999 Ford Expedition that crashed into a 1999 Honda Civic while it was stopped at a red light on Santiam Highway at the intersection of Burkhart Street. The crash happened early Saturday morning, at 1:22 AM.

Two Linn County men in the 1999 Honda Civic, 20-year old Todd Boone of Albany and 20-year old Joshua Perkins of Lyons, were pronounced dead at the crash scene.

A warrant has been issued for Jodie Faye Jones for 2 counts of Manslaughter in the First Degree, Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver to Injured Persons, Reckless Driving, DUII, and 3 counts of Assault in the Third Degree.

The investigation revealed that Jodie Faye Jones was racing a dark colored SUV at a high rate of speed west on Santiam Highway moments before the crash. Carter says the dark colored SUV fled the scene following the crash.

Police say 24-year old Tonya Anne Jones of Albany, who is also known as Tia Jackson & Tonya Raines, is also wanted as a person of interest in this investigation. Tonya Anne Raines drives a dark colored 1999 4-door Chevy Tahoe with Oregon License 106-CAQ. This is believed to be the vehicle that Jodie Faye Jones was racing when the crash occurred.

Carter says Albany Police have been unable to locate Jodie Faye Jones or Tonya Anne Jones. They say they have received information that Jodie Faye Jones may have fled with her husband, Joseph Jones, possibly to Arizona.

Anyone with information regarding this crash or the whereabouts of Jodie Faye Jones or Tonya Anne Jones is asked to call the Albany Police Department at 541- 917-7680.
