Mar-12-2008 06:02TweetFollow @OregonNews 7 Days Later: Manhunt for Eve Carson's Killer(s) ContinuesKevin Hays Salem-News.comA person of interest has been detained in Eve Carson's murder. See our top stories for the latest information.
(CHAPEL HILL, NC) - The search continues today for the suspect(s) in the tragic and senseless murder of former University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson. The 22-year old was found shot to death in a suburban neighborhood not far from the UNC campus at about 5:00 a.m. last Wednesday. Police have recovered Carson's cell phone, which was found at a shopping center about a mile and a half from where her body was found. Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Curran says they have received some 200 tips after they released ATM and convenience store photos of possible suspects in the case. The ATM photo shows a young man driving a sport utility vehicle possibly using Carson's ATM cards in the Chapel Hill area. Curran also said he believes there is a second unidentified male seated in the rear seat in the ATM photo, and police are still trying to enhance the quality of the photo in an effort to learn more about the second person. The convenience store photos depicts a young African-American male, who tried to use Carson's ATM card. Police say he was the only person in the store at the time, and they believe he is the same man in the ATM photo. Investigators are also still looking for anyone who may have seen Carson's vehicle between the hours of 1:30 AM and midday Wednesday. Her vehicle is as follows: A blue 2005 Toyota Highlander with Georgia plate AIV-6690. The SUV was found in another neighborhood about a block and a half from where she lived with roommates Curran said. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crimestoppers at 919-942-7515. The UNC Board of Trustees has donated $25,000 as a reward for information leading to the arrest of Carson's killer(s). The University of North Carolina will hold a memorial service for Carson after students return from spring break, according to a statement on the school's Web site. The chancellor search committee at UNC has appointed J.J. Raynor of Charlotte to replace Carson as student body president. Marie Carson Memorial Fund: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has established the Eve Marie Carson Memorial Fund in memory of Eve Carson, our student body president, trustee, wonderful person and great friend. The purpose of this Fund is to celebrate and remember Eve Carson’s love for the University and its students. The specific use of contributions to this fund will be determined in consultation with Eve’s family. For those wishing to make an online gift, please visit giving.unc.edu/gift, choose one of the giving options, select "Eve Marie Carson Memorial Fund" under University Designation, and select “Eve Marie Carson Memorial Fund” under University Fund. This SOB will rot in hell for the rest of his crack head life. He's nothing more than a ruthless piece of shit and I hope his family feels good that they brought this low life piece of shit into this world. I just wished I had one shot of punching his face out. I would smash it so hard my fist would go through his mouth and out the back of his greasy low life head.

The killers in "In Cold Blood" savagely murdered with a shotgun. The difference is once you were caught, tried, and executed if you were guilty. What a travesty of justice to do less. Stupid liberals.
You mean jack squat pal

Mike C. et al: Don't recall striking statement from any of the others either, Mike. IF you can do so, why NOT document with link for us to "see with own eyes" and then use own mind to evaluate ? Agree absolutely with your feeling this is key issue, but in all fairness all avoid it, as does far too large a part of our whole "student body" in this nation --still learning long after Civil War was fought at huge cost in blood, treasure, opportunity and a clear and democratic future for all.

There is a raging elephant in our living room, namely, male black crime. Has Obama addressed this issue? No. will he? No.Can we continue to speak about this in the media? No. It is a taboo issue. "Move along, nothing happening here."
