(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - On Wednesday, Dean Sumpter recognized something peculiar at his neighboring property on South Central Point Road -- his neighbor's vehicle had not moved for a considerable amount of time.

Sumpter alerted the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol division, who responded to this 37-acre parcel of land to investigate the matter. A spokesman for the sheriff's office says darkness was blanketing the area and prohibited patrol personnel from conducting a thorough search of this vast amount of property Wednesday evening.

This morning, a deputy searching this acreage located an ATV, equipped with a spraying unit, on its side in a creek that meanders through this property. Next to the ATV, in this creek, was the deceased body of a male subject, believed to have been born in May, of 1927.

It appears this male subject was working, spraying and operating his Yamaha Grizzly ATV at the time of his death. Apparently this ATV came to close to the bank of the creek and tipped over. This would have created an estimated 8 foot fall into this creek that contains an estimated 2 feet of water flowing through this portion of the creek.

Investigators are under the impression the deceased has been at this location of his death since the 20th of June -- eight days ago.

The Clackamas County Medical Examiners Office was notified and responded to the discovery of this deceased male adult. The precise cause of death has not yet been determined; although, the circumstances to not appear to be suspicious. At present, this subject is identified, and efforts are being made to notify relatives of this unfortunate incident.
