(MADRAS) - At approximately 1:30 PM Thursday, the family of Private first class Tom Tucker received official notification from the Army confirming the death of their son. Pvt. 1st Class Tom Tucker's body is still at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Memorial service arrangements are pending and will be put forward as soon as details are finalized. Wesley Tucker, Tom's father, has stated that he has no anger towards the Iraqi people, because they are not the ones responsible for the death of their son. The fault lies with the insurgents. The family would like to continue to thank the Central Oregon community for their tremendous outpouring of support during this difficult time. A fund in Thomas Tucker's name has been established. Checks can be sent to Columbia River Bank, P.O. Box 0, Madras, OR 97741. The name on the account is The Bring Tommy Home Fund. The purpose of this fund is to assist with travel expenses so that family members who live outside of the Central Oregon area may attend the Memorial Service. Any excess funds will go towards a scholarship in Tom Tucker's name. Cards and letters in show of support to the Tucker family may be sent to The Tucker Family, C/O Public Affairs, Oregon Military Dept., PO Box 14350, Salem, OR 97309-5047.
