Salem Ready to Open Splash Fountains; Annual Public Works Day is Thursday

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The City of Salem is set to open splash fountains in area parks. The self-operating spray fountains will be open every day until 8:00 p.m. starting on June 20.

The splash fountains at Riverfront Park and River Road Park will be open two hours earlier than the splash fountains at the smaller neighborhood parks.

Splash Fountain Locations:

10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Riverfront Park, 200 Water Street NE Englewood Park, 1260 19th Street NE

River Road Park, 3045 River Road N Fairmount Park, 650 Rural Street S

Noon to 8:00 p.m.

Northgate Park, 3575 Fairhaven Avenue NE

Wes Bennett Park, 2200 Baxter Road SE

West Salem Park 265 Rosemont Avenue NW

Salem Annual Public Works Day:

The Eleventh Annual Public Works Day is scheduled for Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Riverfront Park.

Hundreds of residents, family members, and friends are expected to visit and partake in the food, hard hats for kids, and plenty of games. Equipment and displays will highlight Public Works programs and projects.

In addition, there will be displays showing off other City programs such as neighborhood associations and the Salem Public Library. Several nonprofits will showcase their programs.
