Two local police agencies worked together to take two burglary suspects into custody, and investigators report that the majority of the stolen goods have already been recovered.

(KEIZER) - Two local police agencies worked together to take two burglary suspects into custody, and investigators report that the majority of the stolen goods have already been recovered.

Keizer Police responded to a report of a business burglary that occurred at 3787 River Road North Monday morning just after 6:30 AM. The owner of the business, Environmental Safety Resource Group, told police that he found the business had been burglarized upon arriving at its location.

He told the investigating officer the burglary must have occurred sometime between 4:30 PM on Friday, July 21st and 6:30 AM Monday, July 24th.

Investigators say the suspects entered the business after breaking the glass front door. Several items had been stolen from the business including desktop computers, laptop computers, computer software, LCD projectors, computer monitors, modems, printers, and cash.

The estimated value of the stolen property was $25,000. In addition to property taken from within the business, the owner reported a 1999 GMC Sonoma pick-up was also stolen. The vehicle had been parked outside adjacent to the business.

Tuesday morning around 7:30 AM, Salem Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near McDonald Avenue NE and Brooks Street NE. The responding officers say they located a person near the vehicle, who was later identified as Steven Gieseker.

While continuing to investigate, the Salem officers determined that the vehicle Gieseker was with had been reported stolen from a Keizer business burglary. Keizer Police officers were called to their location to assume the follow-up investigation.

Throughout the remainder of the day, several Keizer officers and detectives followed up on this development and identified Steven Gieseker as one of the individuals who committed the burglary at the Environmental Safety Resource Group business.

Detectives also identified a second suspect, Jesse Davis, and arrested him for participating in these crimes. He was found outside his apartment at about 2:45 PM Tuesday. Coincidentally, Davis’ apartment is located about three blocks from the business that was burglarized.

Gieseker was charged with three counts of burglary because investigators determined he actually entered and burglarized the business on three separate occasions over the course of the weekend.

He has also been charged with Identity Theft because investigators believe he used the victims personal and business credit cards to make several purchases throughout the Marion County and Portland areas. Davis was charged with two counts of burglary because he burglarized the business on two separate occasions over the weekend. Davis was also found in possession of a small amount of Methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.

A good majority of the property that had been reported stolen has been recovered, according to Keizer Police Spokesman, Captain Jeff Kuhns, “Investigators are continuing to follow up on this investigation today. They are continuing their efforts to locate other items of stolen property that have yet to be recovered.”

Gieseker and Davis were transported and lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility late Tuesday.
