(WEST SALEM) - Five people were received injuries Monday evening when four cars collided on Highway 22 at Doaks Ferry Road NW in West Salem. Salem Fire crews had to extricate one of the patients who was critically injured from the wreckage. The collision happened at 7:49 PM. Of the five people injured, three were in non-serious condition, one male who was in serious condition and another male who was critical. The male driver of an Acura was the critical patient who was extricated from the vehicle by Salem Fire Department personnel. A traffic signal is long overdue at the intesection of Doaks Frerry Rd and Rt 22. Hundreds of homes have been built in West Salem that affect traffic at this point and the cars on Rt 22 are really speeding up here as they leave Salem.
