(STAYTON, Ore.) - An Oregon State Police investigation, with the assistance of the Marion County District Attorney's Office, into an August 2008 fatal traffic crash led to the arrest Sunday of a northeast Salem-area man on charges related to the death of an 18-year old female and injuries to another passenger.

On January 3, 2010 at 11:10 a.m. OSP Trooper Andrew Goffrier arrested 25-year old Martin Ramirez-Torres at his northeast Salem residence for Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and DUII - Drugs.

He was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Ramirez-Torres is being held in the Marion County Jail with bail set at $65,000.

Ramirez-Torres was the driver of a vehicle August 7, 2008 at approximately 6:00 p.m. that was involved in a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 22E east of Stayton near milepost 16.

As the westbound vehicle driven by Ramirez-Torres transitioned from a four lane divided highway into an undivided two lane section, it crossed the centerline and eastbound lane, left the highway and struck a tree where it flipped onto its top.

An unrestrained rear seat passenger identified as 18-year old Audriana Marie Roldan of Salem, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ramirez-Torres was seriously injured and transported by LifeFlight to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis where he was treated. He was using safety restraints.

A second passenger, a 19-year old Salem-area female in the right front seat, was using safety restraints and received minor injuries.

Just for the 411 He is not illegal he has the same f-in rights as anyone else... He was in the hospital for a lil over a month fighting for his own life. Yes i lost my best friend (Audriana Roldan) but i thank god martin is still here to watch baby Audriana grow up which was born three months after the accident. I believe people should look at the whole situation before judging a person.

Martin should die the same way as that innocent 16 year old girl died. I hope when he goes to prison the other inmates finds out what he did and justice will prevail
