Tony Mounts Appointed to City Finance Director

(Salem) - Salem City Manager, Robert Wells, has announced the appointment of Tony Mounts as Finance Director. Mounts has been serving as the City`s interim General Services Director since August of 2005. Tony Mounts has previously served as Multnomah County Director of County Business Services, as well as Budget Director. He has also worked as the Financial Planning Manager for METRO in Portland and Strategic Planning Manager for the City of Gresham. From 1984 to 1998, Mounts worked for the City of Eugene as Interim Assistant City Manager, Service Improvement Director, Financial Management Services Director, Financial Analysis Manager, Budget Operations Manager and Budget Analyst. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from California State University, Sonoma, and his Master`s Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Oregon. Mounts is replacing Jack Merritt, who retired from the Finance Director position in September, 2005.
