DA Releases More Information in Death of Man Involved in Police Pursuit

Incident began with an early morning traffic stop in Wilsonville, and ended in an apparent self-inflicted fatal gunshot near the Silverton city line.

(Salem) - Investigators from the Oregon State Police, the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Keizer Police Department continue to investigate the death of a man who they say shot himself on Highway 214 west of Silverton following a lengthy police chase early Tuesday morning. The deceased man has been identified as 35-year old Anthony James Solich of Eugene. According to a release from Marion County Prosecutor, Darin Tweedt, Mr. Solich had warrants for Burglary and Arson and was wanted by the United States Marshal's Service at the time of the incident.
