(SALEM, Ore.) - A car chase led to the arrests of two men in the Salem area early Christmas day morning. It began at approximately 3:26 AM, when a patrol deputy named Jerry Wollenschlaeger attempted to stop a stolen vehicle at Glendale Ave/Lancaster Drive Ne in Salem. Sgt. Jeff Wheeler with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says the two occupants in the vehicle refused to stop. "An elude ensued and eventually the driver of the stolen vehicle lost control of the stolen vehicle and crashed into a US Postal Mailbox in the 4900 block of Buffalo Dr Se, Salem." Wheeler says the driver, identified as 34-year old Dale Glenn Post of Turner Oregon, was arrested in the vehicle. The passenger, identified as 33-year old Jesus Mosquedo-Soloria of Salem, fled the scene. "The Marion County Sheriff K-9 dog was deployed at the scene and was able to chase down and capture Mr. Mosquedo-Soloria as he fled," Wheeler said. "Mr. Post was arrested and lodged at Marion County Jail for Unautorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Elude, Reckless Driving and Possession of Methamphetamine." Story continues below Mosquedo-Soloria was first transported to the Stayton Hospital to be examined from dog bites received from the Sheriff K-9. Mosquedo-Soloria was then transported and lodged at the Marion County Jail for charges of UUMV and outstanding Parole Violation warrants.
