Suspect in Fast and Furious-Related Murder of U.S. Agent Extradited

Defendant Charged with Alleged Participation in Murder of ICE Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the Attempted Murder of ICE Special Agent Victor Avila.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Forward by Editor: I read this news release with great curiosity, to see if the FBI, while reminding us of their integrity in pursuing this case, and the desire of U.S. officials to see that the families of the men receive justice, would mention the fact that their own government actively smuggled the Murder/Attempted Murder weapon(s) to Mexican drug cartels in an operation that "miserable failure" doesn't begin to describe - even briefly, that led to these two shootings and a third that left a Border Patrol agent dead.

I was disappointed but not surprised that there is no reference at all.

Integrity and full disclosure is not part of this deal, it never was and it probably never will be with Eric Holder at the reins. Of course this investigation involves the "U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia", of course. That may be the largest conflict of interest in history, but no way around it I suppose. The following is the unedited news release published today by the Federal Bureau of Investigation

Julian Zapata Espinoza, also known as “Piolin,” has been extradited from Mexico to the United States to face charges for his alleged participation in the murder of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the attempted murder of ICE Special Agent Victor Avila on Feb. 15, 2011, in Mexico.

The charges and extradition were announced today by Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division; U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. for the District of Columbia; Kevin Perkins, Assistant Director for the FBI Criminal Investigative Division; and ICE Director John Morton.

On April 19, 2011, a federal grand jury in the District of Columbia returned a four-count indictment against Zapata Espinoza, charging him with one count of murder of an officer or employee of the United States, for the murder of ICE Special Agent Zapata; one count of attempted murder of an officer or employee of the United States and one count of attempted murder of an internationally protected person, both for the attempted murder of ICE Special Agent Avila; and one count of using, carrying, brandishing and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence causing death.

“Julian Zapata Espinoza (“Piolin”) allegedly participated in the murder of ICE Special Agent Jaime Zapata and the attempted murder of ICE Special Agent Victor Avila,” said Assistant Attorney General Breuer. “The indictment unsealed today, and the successful extradition of Piolin to the United States, reflect the Justice Department’s vigorous and determined efforts to seek justice for Agents Zapata and Avila. We will continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners in Mexico to hold violent criminals accountable.”

“This prosecution exemplifies our unwavering effort to prosecute those who committed this heinous offense against U.S. law enforcement agents,” said U.S. Attorney Machen. “We will not rest until those responsible for the murder of Agent Zapata and the wounding of Agent Avila are brought to justice.”

“The extradition of Julian Zapata Espinoza to face charges in the U.S. is a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Special Agent Jaime Zapata and attack on Special Agent Victor Avila,” said Kevin Perkins, Assistant Director for the FBI Criminal Investigative Division. “This extradition would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of all involved in this case. The FBI, DHS and the Department of Justice will continue its pursuit of justice for the Zapata family.”

“The extradition and charges filed against Zapata Espinoza is an important step in bringing Jaime and Victor’s alleged shooters to justice,” said ICE Director Morton. “All of us at ICE are encouraged by today’s action and appreciate the unwavering work and support of all our law enforcement partners in this case. Our hearts and prayers continue to go out to Jaime’s family and his close colleagues within the ICE community. ICE will continue to see that Jaime and Victor’s work is done by continuing our efforts with all involved in working on this case.”

The indictment was unsealed today, when Zapata Espinoza made his initial appearance before U.S. District Chief Judge Royce Lamberth of the District of Columbia. Zapata Espinoza was ordered detained without bail. His next appearance in court is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2012.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, with substantial assistance from ICE, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the Diplomatic Security Service and the U.S. Marshals Service. The investigation was also coordinated with the assistance of the Government of Mexico.

The case is being prosecuted by the Organized Crime and Gang Section and the Narcotic and Dangerous Drugs Section of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. The Office of International Affairs of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division provided substantial assistance.

An indictment is a formal charging document and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Today, over 1 million immigrants enter our country legally per year, while the illegal alien population grows by about 500,000 per year that are not apprehended. The border region still remains an anomaly, as Democrats as Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano declare ‘that it’s more secure”. Tell that to the ranchers and land owners along the Southern border. Sometime soon there is going to be a mass carnage on the border, and then only the Democrats will bear the blame? More than ever before we need a military presence as the drug Cartels have moved their elicit business ventures within our nation. The original strength of the fence has been weakened, and no more is it more observable in Arizona. Hundreds of miles remain open to drug criminals and terrorists that is in its self a National Security issue.

However, these United States does and always has welcomed—LEGAL IMMIGRANTS—and always will. The 50 states also welcome highly skilled workers who are educated in the Sciences, Engineering and technology. These Immigrants will never end up in the welfare lines and taking taxpayer dollars. Nobody has ever communicated that outstanding professionally people, who would be beneficial to America’s businesses not be allowed to immigrate here; we just need an expedited procedure? Nevertheless this country must restrain the poverty from other countries, as we cannot even look after our own people who have insufficient food and thousands who remain homeless.

Since the public visibility of Arizona fighting to sustain its own legal residents with welfare and subsidiary programs, it has been verbally attacked by the Obama administration and the radical open border special interests. Not stopping there the heavy infiltrated leftist groups in the Dept of IN-Justice has also assaulted the States of Alabama, Georgia, Utah, Indiana and South Carolina to intimidate them into rescinding policing policies by the force of the courts. Not satisfied with the harassment on the sovereignty of these different States, they have now trying to enfeeble highly regarded citizens as Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpiao, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Former Congressman Tom Tancredo or anybody that does not conform to their assessment of the immigration laws. None of these policing policies would have been relevant if the US Government had enforced the immigration laws of 1986 and 1974.

Don’t sit around any longer but contact your Senator and House Representative starting tomorrow at 202-224-3121. Every unenthusiastic politician must be harassed, so this bill that only needs 28 more sponsors can be read and placed in the House for voting upon. Tell them you want them to vote for Lamar Smith's sponsorship of ‘The Legal Workforce Act’, this will ensure that illegal immigrants cannot be hired anymore, amid ruthless punishment for business that continue to mock this newly revised mandatory law. Start calling Congress because it might be your job on the line, as an estimated 8 million unauthorized workers are filling jobs right now. African Americans are having a terrible time locating good jobs, with national unemployment hovering around 9 percent and black males unemployment surging to a staggering 17.6 percent, followed closely by legal Hispanics at around 13.1%. Only NumbersUSA has the truth on illegal immigration and the corruption that is Washington. In itself Washington has made it relatively easy to enter America, as being in America is just a civil offense. But foreign national cannot survive without fraudulent documentation. Illegal immigrants are not “undocumented.” They must use fraudulent documents such as counterfeit Social Security cards, forged drivers licenses, fake “green cards,” and phony birth certificates. Experts advise that approximately 75 % of working-age illegal aliens use fraudulent Social Security cards to obtain employment, which is a—FELONY. Entering American territory is an illegal act and should be clarified as a FELONY, as in Mexico and many industrialized nations. LEARN MORE USING GOOGLE AND TYPING ID THEFT-ILLEGAL ALIENS.

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 200,000 total jobs have been added to our economy over the past 12 months. Yet, the federal government imported another 1 million new foreign workers, while Congress stood by and did nothing. As 2011 comes to an end, it's another year that the feds have turned their backs on unemployed Americans by not making immigration a jobs issue.

ATTN: Keep pressing for the Keystone Pipeline, with less reliant on foreign countries that hate us and responsible prices for America and 20.000 jobs. Don’t let the environmentalists win this issue as we need a stable economy, unknown the far left who keep on spending.

NO COPYRIGHT, EVER. DISTRIBUTE FREELY TO EVERY AMERICAN TAXPAYER.

DJ: As a Canadian (and Albertan), I have to respond to your Keystone comment:

I don't believe that the U.S. can expect a stable economy on the backs of Albertans who will accept environmental degradation and devastation just to benefit the unthinking American consumers who are unable to recognize or understand that there are other people on this planet besides themselves.

he is just a patsy to cover up..happens all the time.. First of all, I wont even address the outrageous notion that Ron Paul is racist, because after years of research and following his past, it would be like calling Chuck Norris a woman. So anyone who calls Dr. Paul a racist, is already lost, never to be found, so who cares. Altho, if MSM did their homework a bit better, they could have come up with something better. Ron Paul was not watching over his newsletters. What happens if Ron Paul is president? Will he watch over the government agencies the same way he did his newsletter? Now THAT might have gained some ground...temporarily... Because, Ron Paul already admitted the mistake. He fired everyone involved, admitted 100% that it was HIS fault, and promised it would never happen again. Well, it never happened again in 20 years. Lets look at our current president (altho this applies to all of our past presidents for decades).. obama comes out, in his own words, about the fast and furious incident. obama took NO accountability, all he said is he didnt know, and he said "there are so many government agencies I cant oversee them all". So, nobody was fired, obama blamed big government, while expanding big government, and life goes on. Whereas, Ron Paul would make government smaller, because Ron Paul learned a hard lesson in regards to his newsletter. But, Ron Paul's reaction to fast and furious would have been the same as his newsletter experience...He would have FIRED them all, and reduced the size of government so that it could actually be managed...Are ya getting the point here?
