(BORING, Ore.) - Early this morning at 1:47 AM, neighbors discovered the body of a 51-year-old man situated on the ground next to his ATV in the 15000 block of SE 362nd Avenue. Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies, Sandy Police and Sandy Fire rescue personnel responded to the scene and confirmed the discovery of this deceased male and resident of Boring. Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies investigating this apparent accident indicate neighbors in the area witnessed this ATV traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the discovery of the deceased along the roadway.

This ATV was reported to have been revving the engine at an accelerated rate prior to the tragic event. In addition, investigating Sheriff's Deputies report the deceased was not wearing a helmet at the time of his discovery. An attending Sheriff's Deputy is of the opinion this ATV, equipped with paddle wheel tires, was traveling on SE 362nd in the snow; when for some undetermined reason spun-out and catapulted the helmetless male operator into several large timbers situated along the edge of the roadway. The Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene to investigate and recovered the deceased for forensic examination. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of immediate family.
