Man Sought in Oregon Double Homicide

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Three shooting victims were found injured, two fatally, early Sunday morning at an apartment at 4520 Bristol Avenue, according to Klamath County Chief Deputy District Attorney David P. Groff.

Preliminary investigation found that 20-year old Marissa Lynn Orlow was found dead at the scene.

22-year old David Joshua Kitts, and 18-year old Melissa Ann Kitts, were transported to the hospital, where David Kitts later died. David and Melissa were husband and wife.

Detectives and investigators with the Klamath County Sheriff's Office, the Klamath Falls City Police, the Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections and the OSP Crime Lab are all involved.

The Klamath County Major Crime Team has been activated and is investigating the deaths, and are now seeking to contact a person of interest in the shooting of three Klamath Falls residents early this morning.

The person of interest is 22-year old Matthew Avina-Norris. He is described by authorities as an Hispanic male, with brown hair and brown eyes, 5'11'' tall and 175 lbs.

Authorities believe Avina-Norris has ties to communities throughout the western United States. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Avina-Norris can call the Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 541-883-5145 ext. 603, 24 hours a day. Police say no one should attempt to approach Avina-Norris, and they are seeking more information, "The Major Crime Team is actively pursuing a variety of leads at this time," Groff said.

Preliminary investigation suggests that this is not a domestic violence matter. The investigation is ongoing.

I went to school with him. He was always doing dumb stuff and was always a little off. He grew up in a bad home or so I was told. He has always been really sketch.I never liked him

He was caught in Newell California the following day and in 2010 sentence to life in prison. Its been 13 years today since these Marissa and David were taken from this world. I miss both deadly

I want everyone to know that Matthew is not a bad person. He is a kind, caring person. He is the kind that would stick up for people when they were being bullied. He is my friend and I know the last thing he would want to is hurt anyone. We all need to remember there were 5 other people there. What ever happened to innocent until proven guily?

I knew him for a short while and what I knew of him was he had heart, then. He really looked up to my fiance, my fiance could get him to calm down when needed. But that night before my fiance wanted nothing to do with him because of how he was acting. I pray for him and the families, he really did want out but there was no other way.

I dated this guy for a while and he scared the holy hell out of me a few times, he is very dangerous, and there is definitely a mysterious evil lurking inside of this man. He has never hurt or been violent towards me, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't stand for anything like that ever. There is a very kind, caring and loving side to him. He has a son and his baby's mother is a wonderful, sweet girl. I just hope he gets help and someone fixes the mental problems he has. I am also very sorry for the loss the victims families have faced, as I know his family is as well (I used to know them) Has anyone gotten any updates on this case?

It is so hard to understand why someone would ever hurt david or marissa and i hope her father is doing good... sadly melissa is back to her same old ways and learned nothing from this tragic event that took her own husband from her and she still goes back into that world.... its sadddddddddddd!

It saddens me that someone would shoot anybody and it really makes me sick that it was one of my own. I have no regrets for the anger that I have toward Matthew, but it is very deep dark, but by the same token, my child would not want this anger. I think and shed tears about her every day. That picture is probably from when he was in jail previously. He was caught thank God and will now have to face his sentencing for the horrific crimes he committed. He probably should of never been let out from previous crimes he committed, seeing that he already is a felon. Hopefully he will realize while he is young that gang activity does not pay. Now when he serves time for 2 murders and 1 attempted murder, he will really see what its like to be a bully and see whats it like in prison with men who do not care either.

Where in the story does it say he was caught? It says they're seeking him as a person of interest. That would indicate the photo is a jail file photo. Therefore, the injuries on his scowling face have nothing to do with this case. It would also indicate that this "pretty boy" has had prior scrapes with the law. And...he's likely armed - and yes, dangerous. All I see in that face is a look of defiance - that he'll do whatever he wants to. And it appears he does just that. They said Daumer was a pretty boy, too. DA
