Inmate Dies at Oregon State Penitentiary

Adam Brown was serving a 19-month sentence for Aggravated Theft in Washington County.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Police detectives are investigating the death of an inmate in the Oregon prison system. This inmate was based at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem.

On April 26th, 27-year old inmate Adam Brown was found to be unresponsive while in a holding cell in the Penitentiary's disciplinary segregation unit.

Mr. Brown was transported to Salem Hospital where he was declared deceased.

An autopsy was performed this morning, however it will be about six weeks before toxicology tests are completed. Adam Brown was serving a 19-month sentence for Aggravated Theft in Washington County.

His earliest release date would have been May 2009.
