(SALEM, Ore.) - A single vehicle crash on Delaney Road SE in Marion County led to the injuries of a mom and three of her kids tonight at 7:25 p.m. according to Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office. She says the driver, 32-year old Shannan E. Hoagland of Salem, was Eastbound on Delaney Road when her vehicle left the roadway. The 1981 Jeep CJ5 traveled down an embankment, flipped over and struck a tree. "Hoagland and two of her children were ejected from the vehicle and the third child who was the only one wearing a seatbelt remained in the vehicle", Lorance said. She noted that seatbelts were not available for the two children in the backseat. Marion County/Turner Fire and Salem Rural Metro responded to the crash scene and transported Hoagland and her 3 children to the Salem Hospital. Hoagland and two of the children, ages 9 and 8. remain in the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. The third child, age 12, was treated and released from the hospital. Lorance says the Marion County Crash Team is still investigating the cause of the crash but at this time it appears alcohol was a factor. The family's dog, Kami, was also thrown from the vehicle and last seen running from the crash scene. She is a one year old border collie/rottweiler mix, medium size and dark colored (like a rottweiler). If you have seen her or have any information about her the family has asked that you please call 503 399-7705.
