(PERRYDALE, Ore.) - Polk County Sheriff's deputies say a man died in a motorcycle crash on Perrydale Road near the Orchard Knob Road intersection this morning at 4:30 a.m. Polk County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dean Bender, says they received a missing person's report at approximately 1:38 a.m. from the Dallas Police Department, regarding a friend who borrowed a motorcycle earlier in the evening but failed to return. The missing person was identified as 27-year old Alexander R. Kliever of Dallas, Oregon. "Dallas P.D. received information that Alexander may have driven the motorcycle to his parent's house so they began a road search of the missing motorcyclist," Bender said. "With the help of cell phone transmissions, the area of search narrowed to the Perrydale Road and Orchard Knob Rd area where Alexander was later located at approx. 4:30 a.m." Bender says it appears the motorcycle had been traveling northbound on Perrydale Road when it failed to negotiate a curve with a suggested speed of 35 mph. Mr. Kliever and the motorcycle struck several trees and a fence where he was found deceased. Bender says speed may have been a factor in the crash but the investigation is on-going at this time.
