(SALEM) - The City of Salem Public Works Department wants you to Be Aware! of two road construction projects that are set to begin on Tuesday. Please make a note of these projects and if your commute takes you through one of these workzones expect delays, or if possible use an alternate route to get to your destination. From 9:00 AM thru 3:00 PM, Kuebler Boulevard SE, from Commercial Street SE to I-5, will have traffic lanes narrowed. This is a mobile pavement testing operation and will occur on both sides of the roadway. Expect traffic to slow and some congestion at this location. Between the hours of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Sunnyview Road NE will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Park Ave NE and Bruce Street NE for paving the driveway at 2883 Sunnyview Road NE. Flaggers will be in place to control traffic. Use alternate routes to avoid delays. RJ, I am not entirely sure, but I wonder if they would have to pay the workers overtime, or some type of compensation pay? Just a thought.

Wonder why the paving isn't done at night, when the traffic is lighter? Why add more problems to an already congested road during the day/evening hours!
