Police say the suspect ran from the scene and tried to hide behind some bushes.
(SALEM) - A Salem woman faces a first-degree Manslaughter charge after a crash Sunday night that left a passenger in her SUV dead.
Salem Police Lt. Chuck Bennett says 25-year old Aislyn Marie Decorte was driving eastbound in the 700 block of Ratcliff Drive SE when her vehicle entered the 'S' curves and lost control, then smashed into a landscaped area and crashed into a tree with the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Police say passenger 24-year-old Jess Eldon Gregory, died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Aislyn Decorte was found hiding in some bushes near the crash scene. She faces first-degree Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, and failure to perform the duties of a driver involved in an injury accident. She was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
