(OREGON CITY) - Emergency crews were called to a fatal pedestrian accident on Roots Road in Milwaulkie Wednesday morning at 10:45 AM.
Investigators with Clackamas County say 33-year old Gary Elliott Battin was playing basketball with a relative in the driveway of a home he was visiting in Milwaulke when he chased the ball into the street and ran into a trailer being towed by a westboud pickup on Roots Road.
Sheriff's Patrol personnel say Mr. Battin ran out of the driveway at 7725 SE Roots Road while chasing a basketball and ran into a trailer – head first -- being pulled by a westbound pick-up truck.
This pick-up truck was described to have been traveling – at an acceptable rate of speed -- westbound on SE Roots Road, at the time of this accident, just east of SE Patsy Avenue, on Roots Rd.
