Freeway Crash Sends Ten Motorcycle Riders to Hospital

Ten Injured, Two Critically, in Multi-Motorcycle Crash - Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Motorcycle crash in Oregon 9-18-09 Police say ten motorcyclists traveling together as part of the Brothers Speed Motorcycle Club were injured, two critically, Friday afternoon in a multi-vehicle traffic crash south of Wilsonville on Interstate 5.

Oregon State Police Lieutenant Gregg Hastings, says Friday, September 18, 2009, at approximately 2:45 p.m., approximately 26 motorcycles were traveling northbound in the left inside lane near milepost 282 in a formation of two columns when traffic ahead began to come to a stop.

Several Motorcycles Crash on I-5 Near Wilsonville, Oregon (UPDATE)

All lanes are open on I-5 northbound following a crash involving multiple motorcycles at mile post 282, 2 miles south of Wilsonville. Traffic is backed up for several miles, and motorists should consider alternate routes. Expect delays as significant congestion clears, and watch for crews working in the median area.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Crash investigation Oregon State Police say one lane northbound is now open following a multi-vehicle crash involving 26 motorcycles and two passenger vehicles northbound Interstate 5 near the Baldock Rest Area south of Wilsonville.

Two motorcyclists were taken by LifeFlight with critical injuries and eight others transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals. Preliminary information indicates that today at approximately 2:45 p.m. a group of at least 26 motorcyclists were northbound in the left lane on Interstate 5 near milepost 22 following a passenger vehicle when traffic ahead began slowing.

Police Release Preliminary Information in Fatal Traffic Crash Near Wilsonville

53-year old Linda Marie Trethewy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers, with the assistance of the interagency Clackamas County area crash investigation team, are investigating into Wednesday morning's fatal traffic crash that occurred south of Wilsonville on Interstate 5.

According to OSP Lieutenant Jason Bledsoe, this morning at approximately 5:15 a.m. a group of vehicles were northbound on Interstate 5 approaching milepost 282 in the area of a highway work zone where signs were displayed indicating an upcoming lane restriction.

Police Arrest Two for Conspiracy to Trade Drugs for Sex at Coffee Creek Prison

Detectives believe the two sets of crimes were not connected.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Oregon State Police detectives arrested two former Coffee Creek Correctional Facility maintenance employees Monday for conspiracy to trade drugs or illegal contraband for sexual favors with female inmates.

OSP Detective Patti Rhodes and Detective Jon Harrington arrested 37-year old Richard Kaleo Rick of Beaverton Monday on an outstanding felony arrest warrant for first-degree Custodial Sexual Misconduct, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and two counts of Supplying Contraband.

Police Call Early Morning Crash a Reminder for Drivers to Lookout for Highway Crews and Vehicles

Oregon State Police cited the commercial truck operator for Careless Driving.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon truck crash 12-30-08 Even though the snow and ice has mostly disappeared, police say a crash early Tuesday morning is a reminder of the need to watch for highway maintenance workers and vehicles as they work to keep our area roads safe to travel on.

This morning at approximately 3:45 PM, three ODOT maintenance vehicles were involved in sweeping loose sanding material in the far right southbound lane of Interstate 5 near milepost 286 north of Wilsonville.

State Police officials say an ODOT dump truck operated by 53-year old Kenton W. Brenner was at the rear of the slow-moving maintenance vehicles with flashing amber lights and directional arrows displayed to move rear approaching traffic to the center and left southbound lanes.

Gasoline Truck Driver Dies in Fiery Crash Near Wilsonville (PHOTOS)

Driver dies in commercial truck crash and fire on Interstate 5 near Wilsonville‏.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Wilsonville, Oregon 12-28-08 Police responded to an explosion near Interstate 5 in the south Wilsonville area early this morning at 2:45 AM, involving a fuel laden semi truck. They say the driver, 56-year old William Neil Adams of Scappoose, Oregon, died in the crash and ensuing fire.

Fire personnel from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responding to the scene found a commercial tanker truck and trailer fully engulfed in flames, about 70 feet west of the southbound lanes near trees.

Interstate 5 Closes for Hours Over Fatal Pedestrian Crash

The fatal vehicle vs pedestrian crash happened on Interstate 5 at the Donald/Aurora Interchange.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police say a 17-year old boy from Washington died Thanksgiving evening when he was struck by a car while trying to run across the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at the Donald/Aurora interchange.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Dale Young says that at approximately 5:25 PM, a 2005 Hyundai Accent driven by 24-year old Casey Reanne Stone of Salem, was southbound in the left lane of Interstate 5 near milepost 278 when the victim attempted to run from the west side of the freeway to the east side. The victim ran in front of the Hyundai and was struck.

The victim, identified as 17-year old Alan M. Bautista of Auburn, Washington came to rest on the inside median shoulder. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

26 Windshields Smashed at Wilsonville Car Lot

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating this extensive theft and offering a reward for information leading to the identification of the person, or persons responsible.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - 26 brand new cars on a lot in Wilsonville had their windshields smashed out Saturday night and received other damage, as well as having their car navigation systems ripped out, investigators say.

The agency's Crime Scene Investigation Unit was summoned to the Wilsonville Chevrolet Automobile dealership Sunday at 12:45 PM. The dealership is on SW Boones Ferry Road, in Wilsonville.

OSP Investigates Deceased Man in Car at Santiam Rest Stop

The man is identified as 40-year old Brian Leslie Maxwell of Albany.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police and Marion County Medical Examiner are continuing the investigation into the death of a man found Wednesday morning in a car at the east end of the northbound Santiam Rest Area off Interstate 5.

There are no signs of violence or foul play, according to State Police. It began with a report that a citizen saw a possible deceased man in a car at the Santiam Rest Area.

Wilsonville Man Dies in Crash Near Newberg

Nicholas Thatcher was not wearing a seat belt. He was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Emanuel Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - Fatal crash investigation Investigators in Yamhill County say a man died in an overnight crash approximately 5 miles east of Newberg. Just after 11:00 PM, deputies were sent out to the location on Wilsonville Road.

One passenger in the car died, and three people in the car were taken to Newberg Providence hospital by Newberg Fire department ambulance where they were treated for minor injuries and released. The crash is still under investigation by the Yamhill County Multi Agency Traffic Team.
