An Eagle Creek Woman and her daughter died as a result of the crash.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police troopers and Clackamas County interagency crash investigation team, are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and the east end of SE Orient Drive.
State troopers say the Saturday afternoon two-vehicle traffic crash resulted in the death of an Eagle Creek mother and her daughter, and non-life threatening injuries to a third person.

Body Found in Sandy River Identified as Missing Teen

Clackamas County Confirms Recovered Body From Sandy River Is Drowning Victim Patrick James Cody Monteith, Age 16, From Sandy
(SANDY, Ore.) -
A spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says teh county's Medical Examiners Office has confirmed that the deceased corpse recovered earlier today from the Sandy River, is in fact the missing teen who was presumed drowned in the Sandy River as a result of swimming mishap on the Sandy River in late June.
The body recovered earlier today on the Sandy River, has been positively identified by the Clackamas County Medical Examiners Office as 16-year old Patrick James Cody Monteith of Sandy, Oregon. He was a Sandy High student.
Patrick Cody disappeared around 2:12 PM, Saturday, June 28th, when he was apparently swept down the Sandy River east of Marmot. No recovery was made as a result of extensive water; ground and aerial searching conducted over a two-day period of time.

Oregon Woman Survives Black Bear Attack

Because of the recent increase of bear and human encounters, fish and wildlife officials remind residents to not feed bears or any other wildlife.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
State Police officials say a Sandy-area woman received non-life threatening injuries late Sunday night when she encountered a black bear at her home. Rick Hargrave with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, says around 11:00 PM Sunday, the 58-year old woman who lives about five miles northeast of Sandy, heard noises coming from her back porch.
"Upon investigating the noises she opened her rear door and found the bear feeding on sunflower seeds stored in an aluminum garbage can." Hargrave says the bear swiped at her, injuring her on the arm, foot and thigh. The bear then ran off.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue Winding Down Search Efforts Along Sandy River
(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) -
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Search & Rescue mission on the Sandy River attempting to locate a missing Sandy teenager who is presumed drowned, was concluded late Sunday afternoon. Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office, says all efforts to locate Patrick Monteith have failed.
He says eight ground searchers from Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue volunteered their time and expertise Sunday and continuing the ground search along the banks of the Sandy River.

A teen missing in the Sandy River has officials there moving quickly. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Search & Rescue Coordinators resumed the search for the missing teen, Patrick Monteith of Sandy; who was last witnessed by three companions being swept down the Sandy River, east of Marmot, early Saturday afternoon.
Jim Strovink with the Clackamas Sheriff says NORSAR, a volunteer canine search group, combed the waters edge as darkness fell late Saturday night.

The Sandy Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying a suspect who they believe pointed a firearm at a man. On March 29th at approximately 2:00 PM, a 69-year old male reported having a firearm pointed at him following a road rage incident involving the victim's wife.
The suspect was driving a black Jeep and is described as an olive-complected white male, early to mid-30's, with close cropped, tightly curled dark hair.

An accidental fire apparently started while the victim was washing an energized fuel pump in a solvent cleaning tank.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
A Sandy-area man died Friday morning from injuries sustained in a fire incident north of Sandy, according to the Clackamas County Medical Examiner. A joint investigation is being conducted by fire, police and safety officials.
A spokesman from the Sandy Fire District says today at 8:54 AM, fire personnel were dispatched to a residential fire at 39120 Hudson Road north of Sandy, after a 911 caller reported being injured.

Police say the highway will be blocked for indefinite period.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police and several other agencies are on the scene of a two vehicle, double fatal head-on crash on Highway 26 about nine miles east of Sandy near Alder Creek.
Preliminary information indicates that a westbound passenger car with two occupants crossed the centerline on Highway 26 near milepost 34 between Cherryville Hill and Brightwood and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup with two occupants.

River Search Resumes for Four Missing Oregon Teens

(TROUTDALE, Ore. ) -
Multnomah County Search and Rescue teams will continue searching the Sandy River near Lewis and Clark State Park for four teens who went missing after a rafting trip Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff’s Deputies say the four, two men and two women, all 19, began their trip from Dodge Park. The river is extremely cold and full of debris police said.
Search crews hope to get help later today from a U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter based in Astoria.
