Conditions improve across California Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night as the rain tapers off and winds diminish.

Serbia: Ten Years Later

As with the democratic revolutions that swept Eastern Europe in 1989, it wasn't the military prowess of the western alliance bringing freedom to an Eastern European country, but the power of nonviolent action by the subjugated peoples themselv

(SAN FRANCISCO FPIF) - Salem-News.com Since the end of the U.S.-led war against Serbia, the country is slowly emerging from the wars of the 1990s. Despite lingering problems, Serbs appear to be more optimistic about their country's future than they have for decades. (SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.) - Rogue feds It's a simple fact that governments don't always have control of their military agencies. This seems to be the case with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency in the United States.

Orthodox Christianity Comes to America

Members are jealous and protective of their religion. At the headquarters of the Orthodox Church in America I learned of a satellite church opened in Japan where services were being conducted in Japanese to the disapproval of the secretary.

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - Russian Orthodox Church in San Francisco, California In one of my History classes at SFSU students were asked to write a term paper on a subject of their choice. I chose as my subject Fort Ross, the only vestige of Russian occupation in California.

In 1841 when the otter population was virtually depleted Russia voluntarily withdrew its people from Fort Ross and resettled them to its Sitka-base far to the north. I wanted to know if, after the withdrawal any Russians remained in California, none did.
