Police Say Juveniles Sprayed Graffiti & Pointed Firearm at Resident

Police say the investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Handcuffs Salem Police say two juveniles were arrested after being caught in the act of doing graffiti at a Salem apartment complex, then pointing a firearm at the complainant as they fled the scene.

The incident began at about 3:05 p.m. on Wednesday when three juveniles were observed doing graffiti at an apartment complex in the 3100 block of 7th Place NE, according to Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada.

The controversy I'm really talking about is when the Director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano was pressured by right-wing talk radio commentators and other conservative mouth pieces like the American Legion, to apologize to America's Veterans and Troops for something that actually is a real threat.

McMinnville Teen Receives Gunshot Wound After Confrontation

Police are looking for two Hispanic males involved in this incident.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A 19-year old McMinnville man is hospitalized today after he was shot last night, following an altercation on Evans Street.

Police say that according to several witnesses and the victim, Jacob Way, got into a confrontation with two Hispanic males on Evans Street between 24th St. and Baker Creek Rd in McMinnville late last night.

Body of Man Who Died of Gunshot Wound Discovered in Campground

Sheriff's Office personnel will return to the scene Wednesday to continue their investigation.

(RHODODENDRON, Ore.) - Death investigation Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Homicide and Violent Crimes investigators are on the scene of a death investigation in Rhododendron, Oregon.

The body of an adult male subject was discovered late Monday afternoon in an undeveloped campground, situated on the south side of Highway 26, in Rhododendron.

With the second highest unemployment rate in the nation, they say actions taken by the Legislature this year will threaten the state’s ability to recover.

“During this recession, the 2009 Legislature passed tax and fee increases that will kill jobs and further slow our state’s economic recovery,” said House Republican Leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg).

(SALEM, Ore.) - Snubnose revolver A group of Oregon legislators led by two outspoken Republicans, want to see students carry guns on public university campuses.

They have dispatched to Chancellor of the Oregon University System, George Pernsteiner what State Representative Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer, St. Paul, Newberg) calls a "sternly worded bi-partisan letter" signed by 34 legislators asking for the state’s public universities to review and revise their gun policies.

New College Campus Safety Measures Announced

A report issued this week encouraged campuses to review their campus security services.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Students relaxing at Western Oregon University At a rally on the Capitol steps Friday, State Representative Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer, St. Paul, Newberg) announced the introduction of two new legislative measures designed to enhance safety at our state’s college campuses.

“This new legislation will give Oregon’s public universities the option of allowing their campus security officers to be trained, equipped and armed, essentially becoming regular police officers,” said Thatcher. “It would also enhance their ability to enforce the laws we currently have to combat crime.”
