Three Vehicle Crash on Highway 26 Involves Bus Packed With 20 Kids

Police say the roadway was covered in snow and ice at the time of the crash.
(BORING, Ore.) -
Police say nobody was injured Sunday morning when a pair of passenger cars crashed into a bus with 20 kids aboard. It happened on westbound Highway 26 at approximately 7:30 a.m. according to Oregon State Police.
OSP spokesman Lieutenant Gregg Hastings, says the crash happened when a red passenger car near milepost 18 lost control, slid across the center grass median and crashed head-on into a blue passenger vehicle and a RAZ Transportation bus occupied by about 20 juveniles enroute to the Mt. Hood area.
Hastings says the bus driver, 44-year old Roger Peterson of southeast Portland, attempted to avoid the crash, crossed over the median and ended up in the westbound lanes.

Clackamas Sheriff Reports Fatal ATV Incident in Boring

The Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner was summoned to the scene to investigate and recovered the deceased for forensic examination.
(BORING, Ore.) -
Early this morning at 1:47 AM, neighbors discovered the body of a 51-year-old man situated on the ground next to his ATV in the 15000 block of SE 362nd Avenue.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies, Sandy Police and Sandy Fire rescue personnel responded to the scene and confirmed the discovery of this deceased male and resident of Boring.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputies investigating this apparent accident indicate neighbors in the area witnessed this ATV traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the discovery of the deceased along the roadway.

Drivers Escape Injury in Commercial Truck Crash Near Boring

(BORING, Ore.) -
Two commercial truck drivers escaped injury Monday morning during a collision on Highway 26 west of Highway 212 near Boring.
Oregon State Police Recruit Scott McLeod says this morning around 8:19 AM, a commercial truck was parked on the south shoulder eastbound Highway 26 near milepost 20.
The truck's driver, 43-year old Scott Smithson, was outside the truck cleaning his windows when the back of the trailer was hit by an eastbound commercial truck driven by 50-year old Katrina Neilsen, McLeod said.

Boring Woman Dies in Highway 26 Crash East of Sandy

(BORING, Ore.) -
Police say a Boring-area woman died Friday night when the car she was driving crossed into the opposite lanes of travel on Highway 26 about four miles east of Sandy and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Police say the woman's vehicle was westbound on Highway 26 when for an unknown reason, it crossed the centerline into the right eastbound lane where it crashed head-on with a Hyundai Tucson sport utility vehicle.
