<title> USA Today Takes Israeli Position Over Palestinian Restaurant Azad's Dress Code</title>
<description> USA Today is unique among American newspapers with its colorful design, but not when it comes to reporting without the correct filters on.

Today they covered the story we broke several days ago, on Azad restaurant in Haifa, Israel. It is a Palestinian owned business with a dress code stating that no uniforms are allowed. This rule didn't single out the Israeli Defense Forces, it simply applied to all.

	        <title> Food for Thought</title>
<description> “Miracles and Modern Spiritualism,” by Alfred Russell Wallace; 1876 - reflect mid-to-late 19th Century thought that possess a level of consistency and truth I refer to as The Dichotomy of Being.

In his book he says: “Inclinations toward Mystery and passions strongly excited by Catholicism that increases religious fervor may give the appearance of truth occurring in the oddest manner, but they exist as fact only in the minds of the faithful by inference.” The cardinal maxim of Spiritualism is that everyone must find truth for himself.

The fund was a good idea, but Bush apparently decided that the kids of Afghanistan had received enough help, and the program was abandoned by the White House on April 1, 2005. We need it to revive it.

<title> Potential Fruit Fly Invasion Serious Threat for Oregon Fruit</title>
<description> The spotted wing Drosophila, which some have dubbed the “Dragon Fruit Fly”, has invaded Oregon from California and has already been confirmed in several Oregon fruit crops. Terry Witt with Oregonians for Food And Shelter, says the crops likely to be invaded include blueberries, caneberries and grapes.

Stuart Olson, a local peach, apple and cherry grower, believes this could literally shut down fresh fruit sales from Oregon. "Unlike the vinegar fruit fly that takes to rotted fruit, this critter infects ripening fruit and is visible in the fruit as a small maggot."

<description> I remember when the first food banks were set up in the early 1980s in response to the declining economic conditions. They were supposed to be a temporary measure. Now they’re everywhere.

There are now huge numbers of homeless people—including families with children. In Calgary last spring, an overnight census was done with over 4,000 homeless people counted. But everyone knows the number is higher, perhaps much higher. It’s no different in other large cities across North America.
