<title> Tim King Joins Radio Free Nation Tonight to Discuss LaVena Johnson Case</title>
<description> LaVena Johnson was a proud American serving her nation in uniform when she met her untimely death on an American military base in Iraq. In spite of extensive injuries, evidence of a severe beating and sex abuse, and her body being lit on fire, the U.S. Army deemed her case a "suicide".

The Army, which has plenty of problems over sexual assault within its ranks, apparently didn't believe any of the injuries LaVena Johnson had suffered prior to her death were caused by a second person or persons.

A simple fact when it comes to suicide, in addition to all of the evidence, is that statistically, black women are among the least likely groups to commit this act in the first place.

<title> List of Americans Killed in Afghanistan Passes 500</title>
<description> Fifteen Americans have died fighting in Afghanistan in the last two weeks. The number of Marines and Navy Corpsman killed in combat is extremely high. The most recent deaths involve one U.S. soldier who died in Khogyani, Afghanistan, and four who were killed in Kandahar City. Their names were released Tuesday.

The numbers of casualties in Iraq almost always exceeds the numbers out of Afghanistan, but that seems to be turning around as the summer kicks into high gear. Many military fighters native to the region remain less active during the winter, and are often known for launching an increasing number of attacks in May and June.
