Expect Delays on U.S. Hwy. 395 in eastern Oregon due to fire
(SALEM, Ore.) - ODOT reports that a fire along Camas Creek in southwestern Umatilla County is creating delays for travelers on U.S. Highway 395 between Ukiah and Dale, 50 miles south of Pendleton.
Oregon Department of Transportation crews are piloting traffic through the area between mile points 50 and 60, but may need to close the highway if the fire poses a further danger. Motorists planning travel on U.S. 395 in this area are advised to expect delays or use alternate routes if available.
Expected weather: Strong upper level ridge will remain over the region through Saturday before moving east and allowing cooler air to penetrate into the inland regions. Expect more 100+ degree heat today and Saturday before cooling moderately Sunday, and considerably more on Monday. As an upper low pressure area gets closer to the region tomorrow, chances of thunderstorms increase, mainly over south central Oregon.
