It happened around 2:00 AM last night on Highway 211 south of Colton. Police say the vehicle should show clear signs of damage from hitting the man while he was walking.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Police have identified a Molalla-area man as the victim of an apparent hit & run crash on Highway 211 about south of Colton.
Oregon State Police, working in conjunction with the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, believe the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Friday and the victim's body was found later that afternoon.
According to OSP Sergeant Dan Swift, a utility worker spotted a body in the ditch on the eastbound shoulder of Highway 211 near milepost 17 this afternoon at approximately 1:15 PM.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim, 23-year old Justin L. White of Molalla, was walking in the area of the highway toward Colton where his mother lives at about 2:00 AM when he was struck from behind by an unknown eastbound vehicle.
Scene evidence indicates the involved vehicle should have extensive front damage including the headlight assembly area.
Justin White was wearing dark clothing. Investigators do not know if he was walking on the highway or on the shoulder.

The eastbound lane was closed for about three hours. ODOT assisted with traffic control.
