A different take on traumatic stress and the things that can cause it.

(SALEM, Ore.) - When it comes to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, there is a scale of one to ten that grades the particular person's condition.

When a person is at the low end, the degree of suffering they endure as a result of PTSD might be fairly manageable, but a person that is a ten might be like a ticking time bomb, dangerous to themselves as well as others.

Salem-News.com's Bonnie King and Oregon medical marijuana activist and PTSD sufferer Erin Hildebrandt discuss some of the traumas in life that lead to people suffering from PTSD who never set foot in a war, but spent time on the battlefield in other ways that measure up to the same thing.

In a time when hundreds of thousands of Iraq and Afghanistan war vets join the ranks of Vietnam, Korean War and WWII vets who suffer from PTSD, we remember as a society how important of a subject it is.

At Salem-News.com we pay frequent attention to the subject and will continue to. Doctor Leveque is one of the top doctors and toxicologists on the subject in the nation and his combat background places him among the most credible sources in the world when it comes to PTSD, people like Erin Hildebrandt compliment the work we do by reminding us what a diverse problem PTSD is.
