(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - A Clackamas County Sheriff's Deputy conducting a routine traffic stop Friday, discovered the passenger of this truck to be one the Federal Bureau of Investigations most wanted fugitives.
The black, Ford Ranger, pick-up truck that the deputy stopped was towing a utility trailer with no operating tail-lights, Clackamas Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink said. The vehicle was pulled over February 15th at 9:00 PM.
"Deputy Kevin Bigler negotiated a traffic stop on a pick-up truck traveling on SE McLoughlin Boulevard, in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie, Oregon. This traffic stop resulted in the lone passenger to be identified as 43-year old Thomas Andrew McLaughlin, a Federal fugitive."
Strovink says McLaughlin persisted with his efforts to deny he was a fugitive with Deputy Bigler; however, Strovink says he was unsuccessful in his attempt to deceive this veteran Deputy Sheriff, and was arrested at the scene without incident.
Thomas Andrew McLaughlin was wanted for sexual misconduct in Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri. At the time of his arrest, McLaughlin provided his residential address as being on South Anchor Way, in Oregon City.
